The Burbank Library is proud to partner with Go Team Therapy Dogs, to add comfort, and joy to your library experience.  

Therapy Dogs usually visit the library on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. To confirm they are visiting on that day, please confirm by calling the Burbank branch at (509) 527-3284 extension 1.

What are therapy dogs?

A therapy dog is a dog that is trained to provide affection, comfort and support to people all kinds of people, not just their handlers. They will go with their owners to volunteer in public settings, such as nursing homes, schools, libraries, and more!

What is the difference between a therapy dog and a service animal?

Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Per the ADA: "a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.  The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability". Therapy dogs do not have public access rights with exception to the specific places they are visiting and working.
