Register for a WWCRLD Library Card
Who is Eligible for a Library Card?
The Walla Walla County Rural Library District serves the cities of Prescott and College Place and the unincorporated communities of Walla Walla County. Residents of all ages may register for a library card. A user’s privilege (card) expires every two years, at which point they must contact the library to confirm their information has not changed.
If you do not reside in one of the above areas, you may be charged for a library card. The non-resident card fee is $40 and must be renewed yearly. However, there are exceptions, and you may be eligible for a free card if you work, own property, or attend school in Walla Walla County. To confirm eligibility, proof of active enrollment, employment, or property ownership must be presented.
If you are a seasonal resident, seasonal worker, are experiencing homelessness, or otherwise do not have a permanent address, you may be eligible for a temporary card.
If you are not certain whether you already have a library card, please contact one of our branches to confirm. The easiest way to register is to complete a form at one of our branches or print one of the forms below and bring it to a branch. Cards registered at any branch may be used throughout the district.
Circulation and Borrowing Guidelines
The Walla Walla County Rural Library District does not charge fines for late materials. However, if an item is lost or damaged, the patron is responsible for the cost of the item plus a $10 processing fee.
We follow American Library Association guidelines for freedom of access to library services and materials. We do not restrict access to any services or materials based on age, origin, background, or views. If parents wish to regulate their children’s access, they must be present at the library while their children use it and/or access their children’s accounts online to view checkouts. All library cardholder accounts are subject to our Confidentiality of Library Records Policy, regardless of age.
You can view our Circulation Policy on our Policies page.
