This all ages take and make will be available Monday, November 25th, ahead of our Gingerbread Decorating Contest. You don't have to participate in the contest to take a kit but it is highly encouraged. While supplies last.
Contest Rules & Guidelines
ENTRY
- Enter only 1 category: Child (grades K-12), Adult, and Family.
- Only 1 entry per individual or team.
- Base and Height: All entries must have a very sturdy base no larger than 18″ x 18″. Gingerbread houses can be any size in height.
- Ingredients: Entire display except for the base must be made of edible materials. (Exception of lollipops with sticks). All ingredients must be non-perishable, so nothing will spoil. All entries must use Royal Icing only (no buttercream as this will turn rancid).
- Feel free to get creative! Choose a different dwelling, structure, or object. It does not have to be a traditional gingerbread house design.
SUBMISSIONS
- Entries must be submitted by Saturday, December 14th.
VOTING & WINNING
- There will be an open community vote for from December 16th until December 24th. Patrons can vote for their favorite house in-branch.
- The winners will be announced December 30th.
- There will be two winners this year. The house that received the most votes, and a honorable mention award chosen by branch staff. Each winner will be given a prize.
- All entries will be on public display in the library from December 14th – 30th.

When do I drop off my gingerbread house and enter the contest?
Anytime between the 9th-16th of December. You must fill out a title card for your creation.
